WCTE 2021 Privacy Policy

In order to manage the personal data provided through the WCTE 2021 Platform, we will use the following data protection policy. Please read carefully the following information.

What happens if I do not agree with the Privacy Policy?

If you do not agree with the Privacy Policy that is used to manage your personal data, as previously specified, please, do not share any information with us.

What information will we collect? How will we use it?

We will collect your personal data (such as name, email address and profile information). The data provided by the users will be stored in the WCTE private data base. These will not be sold, nor shall they be misused. We will not use your personal data for any other purposes than the ones required for the event.

Where will my information be stored? How can I access it?

All the information collected from the users will be stored in the WCTE backoffice administration system databases, and every user may consult, edit, and delete its personal information from the direct access on their profile through the WCTE mobile application and event website.

During how long will we retain your information?

The user information will be stored until August 31st, 2021, 23:59 Chilean time.

Cookies

1. Definition of “cookies” A "cookie" is a piece of information that is stored in your computer’s hard drive and that registers your browsing within the website, so when your revisit this website. Options may be presented to you based on the information stored and adapted from your last visit.

2. How will we use these cookies? We use "cookies" for the user traffic patterns of the monitor site and the use of the site. This will allow us to understand how our users use our website for future events we may develop, and to improve the design, disposition, and functionality of the platforms.

Without these cookies, the services available for you in our site cannot be provided. These cookies do not store any personal information that may be used for commercial purposes or that may recover information of your browsing history.

For example, they allow us to count visits, identify traffic sources and recognize which parts of the site are most popular. We use Google Analytics for this purpose (see section 6) and all the information provided by these cookies is added, and thus, remain anonymous cookies. They do not collect information that identify the user, since all the information gathered by these cookies is anonymous and it is only used for improvements.

5. Functionality cookies These cookies enable our website to remember decisions made by you (such as username, language, or region where you are located) and provide improved characteristics. These cookies may be used, for example, to remember the changes you may have made in text size, font, and other customizable parts of the website. Furthermore, they may be used to provide services such as visualization of a video or commenting on a blog. The information provided by these cookies is usually anonymous.

6. Google Analytics This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytic tool by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie regarding the website use (including your IP address) will be transmitted directly to and filed by Google servers in the United States. Google will use this information to evaluate the website use, collecting activity reports from the website and providing other services related to the website’s activity and internet usage. Google may transmit said information to a third-party when required by the legislation, or when said third-party process the information on behalf of Google. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data available for Google. Google uses the _utma cookie. This is a persistent cookie that expires in two years. With each new visit, the expiry date is updated. When using the website, you are aware that Google processes the information about you in the manner and for the purposes indicated above.

7. How to reject cookies? If you do not wish to receive cookies that are not strictly necessary to perform the basic functions of our website, you may choose not to participate in them.
